Programs


The main objective of the Windmill Montessori School is to provide a carefully planned environment that is enriching and stimulating, and that will help children develop within themselves the habits, attitudes, skills, and ideals which are essential for a lifetime of learning and creative thinking.

Windmill Montessori School is proud to offer the following Programs:
  • Steppingstones (2.3-3.1 year olds) - must be toilet trained
  • Primary (Pre-K/Kindergarten; 3-6 year olds)
  • Lower Elementary (First - Third Grades; 6-9 year olds)
  • Upper School (Fourth - Sixth Grades; 9-12 year olds)
  • Junior High/Senior School (Seventh-Eighth Grades;12-14 year olds)
  • After School (Pre-K-Sixth Grade; 3-12 year olds)
  • Specialists (Computer, Music, Art, Yoga and French)
  • Academic Montessori/Creative Writing Summer Day Camp (3-12 year olds)

While the curriculum varies for each level, the primary objectives for all the children who attend Windmill are basically the same:

  2. To develop a positive attitude toward school and learning
  3. To develop a sense of order and concentration for lifelong study skills
  4. To nurture a child's curiosity, initiatives and persistence
  5. To foster inner discipline
  6. To develop a child's awareness of his/her own feelings and to develop a sensitivity for the feelings of others
  7. To encourage the self-motivation and self-discipline inherent in learning that leads to a life-long pursuit of knowledge
  8. To develop and encourage an appreciation for music, art, culture and nature
